Responsibilities:
- Excellent employment opportunity for a Senior Scientist Safety Assessment in the Waltham, MA area. (onsite)
- Utilize human small intestinal organoids to assess the role of therapeutic targets and pathways on the proliferation of normal human intestinal cells.
- Independently design in vitro studies to characterize chemical leads at the molecular level and support their design, selection and development towards candidate drugs.
- Perform in vitro studies to assess the use of intestinal organoids from preclinical species (rat, dog and non-human primate) to predict human toxicities caused by small molecule oncotherapeutics.
- Independently interprets and reports data with a clear understanding of its reliability and draws authoritative conclusions and recommendations.
- Work collaboratively in a matrix organization to deliver shared goals.
Experience:
- A PhD in Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, Toxicology or relevant field and 3 years postdoctoral research experience.
- Experience in the Pharmaceutical industry is a plus.
- Proven experience and expertise in Molecular and Cellular Biology
- Research experience in Stem Cell Biology, 3D culture systems including organoids, and/or single-cell approaches would be an advantage.
- Experience investigating mechanistic toxicology and/or gastrointestinal biology is a plus.
- A strong publication record demonstrating scientific excellence applying molecular techniques to advance understanding of cellular biology
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, with strong communication, organization, collaboration and leadership skills.
