The Position: The Nurse Supervisor will be responsible for the administration of Nursing services as assigned under the direction of the Nurse Manager or Director of Nursing. Directs, plans, and coordinates the service activities and staffing performance of professional nursing and agency nursing personnel in rendering quality patient care. Provides, coordinates, and directs patient care.
Responsibilities include: - Provides direct and indirect skilled nursing care to patients
- Implementation and management of physician orders related to nursing
- Selects, trains develop and motivates a highly skilled professional and allied staff
- Assures that departmental staff complete orientation, maintain clinical competence, performs supervisory visits, participate in continuing education, received counseling and are evaluated in a timely manner
- Assure that patient verification, assessment, teaching and the ongoing scheduling of nursing services occurs in a timely and appropriate manner
- Assures that all patient related documentation is accurately completed, submitted and/or filed in a timely manner, according to internal and external regulatory requirements and in support of the billing process
- Coordination of patient care in conjunction with nurse scheduler and or clinical coordinator
- Works closely with the Nurse Manager and Operations Manager to assess, plan, develop, implement and evaluate clinical and administrative policies, procedures, programs and systems
Schedule: - Monday-Friday, 9:00am-530pm
- On-call rotation
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a BSN
- Current RN Licensure by the applicable state's Board of Nursing, in good standing
- Advanced certification in specialty areas of practice (e.g. CRNI, ONS, IgRN) preferred but not required
- Minimum 2 years Nursing practice in a related specialty such as home infusion and or specialty infusion, home health, oncology, nutrition support, IV therapy or critical care
- Minimum 2 years Pediatric Nursing experience ideal
- Clinical expertise in IV therapies with monitoring, skill and knowledge of all types of IV lines
- Minimum 1 year management experience, proven ability to manage, train and educate staff on new protocols and existing standard operating procedures
- Ability to work with all levels of employees in a fast-paced clinical environment and manage multiple complex projects
- Knowledge of vascular access devices and infusion therapies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Office
