Job description

Tatnall is seeking a dynamic Upper School English teacher able to teach a range of courses, including AP English Literature and Composition. The teacher would be a member of the Upper School English Department, working alongside veteran colleagues. The department is actively involved in Tatnall’s mission to help students develop critical reading, writing, speaking, and thinking skills. In addition to their work in the classroom, department teachers frequently work individually with students to offer support.

Responsibilities include the following :

• Teach five sections of English
• Participate fully in the life of the community
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree required; MA preferred
• A minimum of three to five years of teaching experience in an Upper School setting is preferred
• Experience working with diverse groups of students and appreciation for a range of learning styles
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• A student-centered approach to education
• Ability to work in a diverse and lively independent school setting and to work closely and collegially with students, faculty and staff, administrators, and parents
