Position Summary Information


Primary Purpose


The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is responsible for the assessment of patients in student health services (SHS). The NP performs physical examinations, confers with patients in person and by phone/electronically, collaborates with others in the department to assure smooth flow of patient care consistent with established quality indicators and participates in the overall coordination of patient care. The NP reports to the director of health services, with clinical supervision from the supervising physician. The NP contributes to SHS health and wellness educational activities, outreach and presentations. The NP collaborates with Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) providers and other campus partners to ensure continuity and coordination of care.

This is a 3 day, 24 hours/week position based on the Stockton campus expected to end in July 2024. Possible extensions based on need and funding may be available.

Frequent walking, reaching, simple grasping, repetitive motion and computer use. Occasional standing for long periods, pushing/pulling, bending or squatting. Personal protective equipment will be provided to reduce or eliminate exposure to routine or limited infectious agents. Constant public contact and communication. May require lifting up to 25 lbs.

Work Environment/Work Week/Travel:
Work performed in an office/clinical setting during clinic hours. May require some evening or weekend work depending on clinic operations. May require occasional travel to other campuses (Stockton, Sacramento, San Francisco).

Hiring Range
$80.00-$85.00 per hour. We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
