We have partnered with an environmental services company in the Chaska, MN area to provide them with a Controls Engineer. Please review the below description and let us know if you are interested.
Prioritized Must Have Skills for the Controls Engineer:
#1. Associate's degree or higher in industrial automation or a similar field.
#2. 5 years related experience and / or training.
#3. Required programming skills (Rockwell Software Studio 5000, RSLogix 500, FactoryTalk View ME, FactoryTalk View SE, RSLinx)
Responsibilities of the Controls Engineer:
The Controls Engineer works with the Electrical Engineering department to automate/troubleshoot water process technologies such as: reverse osmosis (RO), demineralization (DI), ultraviolet (UV), water softeners, ion exchange, pressure filters, chemicals, ultrafiltration (UF), nanofiltration (NF), etc.
- Performs automation and control systems design, specification, simulation and start-up assistance.
- Attends project meetings as required by project and department.
- Implements specialized techniques and approaches to handle automation projects.
- Develops customized programs specific to customer needs and requirements.
- Programs and tests various pieces of automated machinery.
- Upgrades the design of existing devices by adding automation elements.
- Provides automation support to departments throughout the organization.
- Maintains confidential operational system information.
- Offers suggestions to improve equipment or department performance.
Miscellaneous Responsibilities:
- Other tasks, duties and projects as assigned by management.
- Continuous improvement in testing processes.
- May assist with the creation of bills of material (BOM's).
- May assist in reviewing customer/contractor's bids and specifications.
- Ability to be trained to assist with electrical drawings and control panel layouts.
Requirements for the Controls Engineer:
- Associate's degree or higher in industrial automation or a similar field.
- Five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Required programming skills (Rockwell Software Studio 5000, RSLogix 500, FactoryTalk View ME, FactoryTalk View SE, RSLinx)
- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Ability to upload and download PLC and HMI programs.
- Ability to troubleshoot ladder logic PLC programs.
- Ability to read and comprehend technical drawings.
- AutoCAD experience is preferred, but not required.
- Careful attention to detail, with strong commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Well organized and conducts self professionally.
Other Key Requirements:
- 100% In office role
- Travels on average 25-30% to customer locations to assist with system programming and for training purposes.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- No sponsorships or visa holders. No Corp-to-Corp.
