This is a terrific opportunity for a creative individual to work in a dynamic environment on challenging technical projects.
IDS North America / Leica Geosystems is seeking a production technician to join our team and become an expert in radar technology that is used in mining safety applications. This position is ideal for a creative problem-solver. It includes various duties such as general assembly, light fabrication, wiring, cable termination, limited facility and vehicle maintenance tasks, and acceptance testing and repair of trailer-based radar systems.
Our fast-paced shop takes on various daily tasks for a growing business. Assembly of other in-house products will also be a part of this job as we are a small, agile team that takes pride in bringing as much in-house as possible and learning new things. We believe that the quality of the product is the most critical factor and set the schedule to allow that to happen.
The workshop manager will provide all related training. Our products are under constant revision, and the production technician will assist with
reviews and improvements.
Work is in the office in Lakewood, 7:00am – 3:30pm Monday – Friday—air-conditioned workshop in summer.
Key Responsibilities :
- Work inside of a small production team to handle general assembly duties for trailer-based radar systems.
- Keep a clean and safe workspace.
- Assembly of Ground Penetrating Radar systems and Slope Monitoring trailers with Off-Grid power solar and generator-powered systems – as well as prototype products and production runs of items.
- Monitor and document quality control and provide feedback.
- Assist in testing of prototype products developed in-house and provide feedback.
- Organize packaging to ensure products stay safe in transport.
- Actively participate in development, implementation, and adherence to best practices and procedures.
- Operate forklift to load/unload shipments and move them within the warehouse.

Basic Qualifications: - Must be a creative problem solver who can take on many tasks during the workday.
- Must be able to work in a challenging, fast-paced, and collaborative environment alongside a highly motivated team that’s there to support you.
- Current driver’s license with a clean record.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- No related college degree is required, experience in relevant mechanical field preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills .
Required Skills: - A successful candidate will be a competent multitasker with a strong work ethic, high attention to detail, enthusiasm to learn and work in a collaborative team.
- The ideal candidate will be highly adaptable to working on various projects within the day.
- Precision and pride in work is a must.
- Work additional hours to meet project deadlines when necessary or required (NOT a common occurrence).

Target compensation is $25 - $30 per hour plus a bonus based on company performance.
