Job Description :
- The Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging (MSP) is looking for a Software Development Engineer. who will act as first level support and development for all incoming production software application issues dealing with merchandising applications.
- Your solutions will impact our customers directly!
Primary responsibilities:
- include developing monitoring solutions
- Troubleshooting/debugging and implementing the fix for internally developed code (Python, JAVA), performing SQL queries, improving our systems that gather metrics on our features, updating, tracking and resolving technical challenges.
- Working alongside development on client Corporate and Divisional Software projects, updating/enhancing our current software, automation of support processes and documentation of our systems.
Job Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate is interested in a career in software development and is looking to utilize and expand their coding skills and gain exposure to a wide variety of software applications.
- They must be detail oriented, have superior verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, are able to work independently and can maintain professionalism under pressure.
Preferred coding skills:
- Java, Python, AWS, Rest API, Back-end engineering.
- Other desired technical skills include Oracle SQL, HTML, UNIX/LINUX.
- A Computer Science or equivalent technical degree and 2-5 years of relevant experience is required.
Story Behind the Need – Business Group & Key Projects
- Projects: mainly one project, front end UX type work to help build out external websites.
- Project is still in the defining stages and is not yet running.
- They will be owning this project along with other SDE's. There will be a lead SDE but the team will be leaning on the contractors to complete the work.
TEAM:
- We partner with Customer Packaging Experience (CPEX) business team to reduce packaging waste. We own tools that help certify products as Ship in Own Container (SIOC) or Enforce Over box and maintain those certifications throughout client systems.
- The SIOC family of certifications indicate products that are expected to arrive to customers damage-free without shipping in client packaging.
- Enforce Over box handles products and situations where client packaging is required.
- Our work is visible externally to client.com customers and vendors and internally to retail teams, data teams, and fulfilment teams.
- Reason for Request: Backfill
Typical Day in the Role:
Daily Schedule:
- Mon- Friday (mostly start at 9- 6 no fixed start to end. To start most busy hours start from.
Interaction:
- W/ Product Manager, TPM and Software Managers.
Conversion? – Potential:
- The project is expected to go till end of next year.

Candidate Requirements
Years of Experience:
- 5+ years of relevant experience
Required:
- Java, AWS, SQL, Restful API, React full stack UX framework, JS, Microservices. detail oriented, have superior verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, are able to work independently and can maintain professionalism under pressure.

Additional Skills:
- Python, AWS Development, TypeScript, JavaScript, ReactJS, Micro services and UX/web experience
Preferred:
- working knowledge of software engineering best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, design patterns, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Client experience is a plus
Degree or Certification:
- A Computer Science or equivalent technical degree.

- Designing UX Full stack applications (java script or react java script.) 4-6 yrs and using it currently
