Job description

Summary: Responsible for maintaining the restaurant's revenues, profitability, and quality goals. Ensuring efficient restaurant operation, as well as maintaining high production, productivity, quality and customer service standards by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Responsible for delivering superior service and maximizing customer satisfaction.*

2. Responsible for organizing and supervising shifts.*

3. Responsible for coordinating daily front of the house and back of the house restaurant operations.*

4. Responsible for responding efficiently and accurately to customer complaints.*

5. Responsible for appraising staff performance and providing feedback to improve productivity.*

6. Responsible for ensuring compliance with sanitation and safety regulations.*

7. Responsible for controlling operational costs and identifying measures to cut waste.*

8. Responsible for training new and current employees on proper restaurant practices.*

9. Responsible for implementing policies and protocols that will maintain future restaurant operations.*

10. Responsible for analyzing detailed reports on weekly, monthly, and annually regarding revenues and expenses.*

11. Responsible for regularly reviews and ensures consistent product quality.*

12. Responsible for assisting general manager with day to day operational activities.*

13. Responsible for handling company cash and occasionally conducting business transactions.*

14. Responsible for regularly auditing inventory levels to ensure product availability.*

15. Responsible for maintaining safe working conditions.*

16. Responsible for developing and regularly maintaining employee and department shift schedule.

17. Responsible for coordinating various minor repairs to restaurant building and property.

18. Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises 10 - 20 non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications:

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Math Ability:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, point of sale system including back office, and ordering processing systems.

The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather), work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold (non-weather), and risk of electrical shock. 

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Hard Eight BBQ is a family-owned and operated business that was started by the late Phillip Nivens and his wife Vicki, along with their son-in-law Chad Decker and wife Carie. Hard Eight BBQ started in 2003 with the first location in Stephenville, TX. Since then we have opened 4 other locations in the DFW metroplex. Hard Eight BBQ is an authentic eating experience where we serve \Texas Style BBQ\ straight from our serving pit.
