Job Summary:
The Candidate shall provide Engineering Technician support to NSWC PCD, Panama City, Florida for the AMCM Depot Level Maintenance Shop. Support in this area will include numerous tasks that are dissimilar in nature but have in common the guidance or oversight of a journeyman level craftsman, Work leader or Project Manager. This functional area includes direct support of the daily operations of the shops in performing organizational and intermediate level repair and maintenance on the AMCM Equipment. The candidate shall provide daily repairs; repairs requiring special and/or conditional turnaround; and pre/post flight and corrosion inspections. Repairs provided will not require extensive disassembly/re-assembly which is normally performed during depot level repair or ones which will delay countermine warfare exercises. The candidate shall participate in field teams deployed for sea trials for the purpose of providing emergency rework and in-the-field modification, testing, and adjusting of parts. The candidate shall visually inspect devices and equipment for phases of corrosion, cracks, and chips. If deficiencies are found, it is mandatory that repairs be accomplished. Items may require disassembly, paint stripping, cleaning, painting, greasing, and re-assembly to safe operating condition. The final phase of organizational intermediate level maintenance is presentation, quality evaluation, and completion of the Maintenance Action Forms (MAFs) to record all corrective/preventive maintenance services performed. The candidate shall provide preventive maintenance on all items in long-term storage. The candidate shall provide ground support to crews in launch and recovery of the AMCM Equipment during flight operations.
