Job description

We are seeking a dedicated Professional Medical Billing Charge Verifier Coder to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring accurate billing and coding for Meritus Medical Group practitioners. Your responsibilities will include verifying charges, coding diagnoses and procedures, and serving as a coding resource and liaison for assigned physician practices within the Meritus Medical Group.

**Primary Responsibilities:**

- Verify charges (E&M, CPT) and selected diagnoses entered by Meritus Medical Group practitioners.
- Code ICD-10-CM diagnoses, E&M, and CPT on designated account types.
- Review provider documentation thoroughly to accurately assign/approve diagnosis and CPT codes/charges.
- Provide coding education to providers/practitioners as needed.
- Adhere to Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting, as well as guidance issued in CPT Assistant.

**Qualifications:**

- Education: Certificate of completion from a Medical Coding and Billing Program.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as a charge poster in an outpatient setting.
- Licensure/Certification: Certified Professional Coder through the AAPC or coding certification through an accredited organization required.
- Skills: Good communication skills, ability to manage confidential patient information.

**Salary Range:** $20 to $32 per hour (based on experience required for the position)
