Essential Job Functions
- Develops and implements various residence hall programs to provide students with the opportunity to meet others and engage in the campus environment
- Oversees the housing placement process for on-campus residence halls
- Oversees residence halls for building maintenance and cleanliness issues and follows up, as needed, with the appropriate resource
- Communicates, monitors, and enforces the student code of conduct and residential life policies and procedures to students
- Oversees the student conduct process for the residence halls
- Investigates and responds to concerns, conflicts and complaints from students, parents, and other members of the university community to support a comfortable and safe campus environment
- Assists with on-call emergencies in the residence halls and responds appropriately and promptly to crisis situations
- Participates in strategic planning efforts within the division
- Oversees print and electronic materials for current students to support a highly residential campus
- Coordinates the housing exemption process and contract release/ return students
- Prepares and monitors departmental budget
- Supervises and develops the department staff, facilitating professional opportunities to improve individual capability and managing performance against job accountabilities, department goals and established university, campus and department policies and procedures
- Supervises and manages student employees, as necessary, to enhance their academic and professional development
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a master’s degree
- Moderate amount of experience managing residential life, student affairs or other related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or greater in student affairs or a related field of study
- Five or more years of experience working in residential life
- Leadership experience in residential life and housing
- Experience utilizing an occupancy management software (e.g. StarRez)
