Credentialing Specialist
Position Overview:
- GTT is seeking a dedicated Credentialing Specialist to join our Healthcare Staffing Practice team.
- This position plays a crucial role in ensuring healthcare professionals are properly vetted and credentialed according to both industry standards and client-specific requirements.
Key Responsibilities: - Credentialing and Re-Credentialing: Manage the credentialing and re-credentialing process for healthcare professionals, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Verification: Conduct primary source verifications for licenses, certifications, education, training, and employment history.
- Database Maintenance: Maintain and update all credentials in the database system, ensuring timely renewals and expiration tracking.
- Compliance: Stay updated with the latest industry regulations and standards.
- Ensure all credentials meet the specific requirements of healthcare facilities and regulatory bodies.
- Document Management: Organize, file, and manage all credentialing documents, ensuring easy retrieval when needed.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with the recruitment and placement teams to ensure a smooth workflow and timely placement of healthcare professionals.
- Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to credentials, seeking input from relevant parties as needed.
- Continuous Improvement: Recommend process improvements for the credentialing system, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
- Previous experience in credentialing, preferably within the healthcare staffing industry.
- Familiarity with Joint Commission, NCQA, and other relevant accreditation and standards.
- Proficient with credentialing software and databases.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications: - Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) designation.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
