Position Summary:
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Program Coordinator I for the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences. The Program Coordinator will perform agrivoltaic research trials being conducted at NJAES facilities and the research trials being conducted by the Rutgers Agrivoltaics Program () as part of the state-wide Dual-Use Solar Pilot Program.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Installs and maintains sensor equipment and supervise the environmental data collection.
- Basic analysis and archiving of the agrivoltaics research trials at the NJAES research farms.
- Actively participate in RAP meetings by providing updates on the crop trials and developing and planning future trials.
- Designs outreach programs, identifies grant opportunities, and writes grants in collaboration with RAP members, and designs, updates and collects usage data for the RAP website.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree preferably in plant science, animal science, environmental science, engineering, or computer science and have a basic understanding of, and interest in, renewable energy.
- Requires two years of relevant experience.

Equipment Utilized:
- The successful candidate is expected to be fluent in the use of the software programs that are part of the Microsoft Office suite.
- In addition, knowledge about software tools for data analysis will be helpful. For the research component of this position, the successful candidate will be involved in data collection practices.
- The Program Manager should be familiar with setting up and maintaining weather stations and Campbell Scientific Data Collection equipment and performing basic analysis of the data.
- The skills required for this portion of the position can be acquired through on-the-job training in consultation with various RAP committee members.
- Visual documentation of the Agrivoltaics Sites' construction and data collection equipment for agrivoltaics trials will be required.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- This position will require outdoor activities in hot, cold, windy and wet weather, although the successful candidate will not be expected to stay in those conditions for long periods of time.
- Working during the early morning, evening and weekends may be occasionally required to gather important environmental data, as well as to perform outreach activities.
- While making research observations, some walking, kneeling and bending over will be required.
- The successful candidate will also be required to lift 50 pounds of materials or equipment from time to time.
Salary: $55,416- $68,958
