Job description
Aireon has deployed the world’s first and global space-based air traffic surveillance system, which is revolutionizing the entire aviation industry. The Aireon system provides real-time aircraft monitoring spanning never before covered areas of the planet, including remote, oceanic and polar regions. Aireon’s receivers are hosted on the Iridium constellation, which consists of 66 operational satellites in low-earth orbit and utilizes a unique cross-linked satellite architecture creating a web of coverage around the world.
The Aireon system enables safer, more efficient and more environmentally friendly aviation travel, resulting in significant CO2 emission reductions. Numerous Air Navigation Service Providers have already signed on as customers and are receiving Aireon’s space-based ADS-B data, including NAV CANADA, NATS (UK), Naviair (Denmark), Enav (Italy), AIRNAV Ireland (ANI), Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, Air Traffic and Navigation Services (South Africa) and more.
This internship will offer the opportunity for individuals to modernize existing python scripts and enhance with further automation. The Python Software Engineer will also perform some Revenue Assurance analysis of ABS vs Databricks Flight Hour creation.
What You'll Do
Understand the project(s) requirements and goals
Establish development environment
Attend daily scrum meetings to provide status/progress
Code development
Check-in code into repositories
Unit Testing
Provide testing data analysis results on Excel and PowerPoint
Present results and lessons learned at the end of the internship
Skills You Will Obtain
Learn how to use software collaboration tools
Learn how to use agile scrum methodology to provide project progress and status
Learn about python data analytics packages such as Polars and Numpy

About the Team
Intern will be assisted by some of the Senior testing and data analytics engineers
Intern will meet daily during scrum meetings, and every 3 weeks during planning meetings
