Join Our Team as a Seasonal Construction Laborer with our Paving Crew!

We are currently seeking motivated individuals to join our paving crew for the upcoming season. The typical work season is mid-April - December.

Responsibilities :

• Assist in the preparation of worksites for asphalt paving, including laying and smoothing asphalt surfaces.
• Follow the direction of Foreman as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or job site.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
• Assists in the placement, moving, and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones, and other traffic control devices.
• Cleans tools and equipment as directed.
• Perform various construction tasks such as digging, raking, lifting, carrying, flagging, and operating equipment under the supervision of experienced crew members.
• Operate equipment such as a jackhammer, plate compactor, cut-off saw, etc.
• Follow safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and your team.
• Work efficiently and effectively to meet project deadlines and exceed client expectations.
• Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic to contribute to a productive and cohesive team environment.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age due to the nature of the work.
• Pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and physical.
• Previous road construction experience is great, but no prior experience is required - this position is perfect for entry-level laborers looking to gain valuable hands-on experience in the road construction industry.
• Willingness to learn new skills and techniques on the job.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with a diverse group of individuals.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work in all weather conditions.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety and job site housekeeping.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally.
• Positive, professional attitude with a willingness to travel.
• Ability to work overtime as required, including some weekends.

Physical Requirements

• Able to physically lift heavy materials (up to 50 pounds) frequently throughout the work shift with or without assistance.
• Frequent walking, sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, climbing, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, reaching overhead, repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.
• Standing/working on feet for extended periods and walking across uneven terrain, climbing up and down ladders and stairways
• Able to work in extreme weather conditions and elements, including but not limited to heat, cold, rain, mud, dust, etc.
• Frequent exposure to noise, dust, fuel, oil, or other chemicals.
• Able to wear personal protective equipment and any other safety-related equipment.
• Able to work a minimum of 8 hours a day and overtime as required.
