Job description

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Department Chair of Social Sciences, History, and Education, the adjunct instructor will deliver engaging instruction aligned with course guidelines and institutional policies. This role encompasses evaluating student progress, facilitating learning experiences, and fulfilling instructional duties as assigned. Assignments may involve teaching at both our Stone Ridge and Kingston Center campuses, with opportunities to teach upper-level American History courses covering diverse periods and topics.

Responsibilities:

Conduct scheduled classes, ensuring full coverage of instructional material.
Notify appropriate department personnel in advance of any unavoidable absences.
Provide students with comprehensive course information, including grading criteria.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, withdrawals, and grades.
Timely submission of required reports and documentation, adhering to institutional deadlines.
Adhere to institutional policies, procedures, and communications.
Regularly check and respond to institutional communications via email and mailbox.
Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in American History or equivalent, with teaching experience.
Proficiency in utilizing Brightspace, the College's learning management system.
Demonstrated technological competency for fulfilling job requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:

PhD in American History coupled with teaching experience.

Awareness of and dedication to meeting the needs of diverse student populations.
