PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Sustainability Engineer is responsible for delivering sustainable and low-energy design projects. Must understand engineering in relation to reuse, remanufacturing, and recycling.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify sustainability risks and appropriate mitigation measures and highlighting opportunities to increase the sustainability credentials of the organization.
- Provide strategic design advice.
- Create models to illustrate plans, processes, and designs.
- Monitor processes to ensure that the design objectives are being followed and that the design meets requirements.
- Create data visualizations and written reports to communicate analysis to various stakeholders.
- Collect and collate qualitative and quantitative data to help communicate and support designs.
- Analyze the energy and carbon footprint of HVAC and Refrigeration systems.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, environmental engineering or related field.
- At least 5 years of related experience.
OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong initiative, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with customers and internal stakeholders. Candidate must have strong communication and project management skills. Must have knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment. Must exhibit strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data and identify trends. Additionally, must have CAD and GIS skills.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
- Must have the ability to effectively communicate and present.
- Industry and HVAC product knowledge preferred.
- Experience in Two-Step Distribution Model preferred.
