Regional Office Timber Support

Qualifications:

Minimum of 20 year(s) of experience OR BA/BS Degree in Agriculture, natural resources, agronomy or related field of study

• Senior Staff Professional Forester experience (GS-0460-13) with federal government
• or timber industry. Prefer SAF Certified Forester credential.
• Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, Power Point
• Other: General forest management and business management acumen. Excellent customer service skills.

Duties:

The Regional Office Timber Support will provide assistance to Region 2 Renewable Resources, Timber Management staff with management and administrative issues such as, but not limited to, program migration from salvage mill furnish to green wood mill furnish, steep slope harvesting, biomass utilization, SAF issues, integrated timber and fuels management, Front Range Priority Landscapes, acquisition of additional personnel, meetings management, etc.

• Regional Office Timber Support per SOW.   100%

• Overnight travel: Up to three, 1 week trips as needed.
• Health and Safety Considerations: Follow general COVID-19 prevention protocols at the time of travel. When in field, dress appropriately and use personal protective equipment.
• Required Safety Gear: Use of hard hat and safety glasses as needed.
• Physical requirements: Walking in field setting.
• Remote work arrangements are available for this position.
