Job description
We are looking to hire a Hardware Test Design Engineer to work a long-term engagement with a very well-known agricultural and heavy equipment manufacturer in Fargo, ND. This role be instrumental in helping to validate high-tech solutions for emerging technology in the electric vehicle industry.
Description
Electrical hardware testing of electronic vehicle controllers for motors, inverters, high-powered converters, etc (Power from 10s to 100s of Kilowatts and Voltages from 300-1200 V)
Compliance testing of electronic components: Vibration, Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), temperature cycle, drive cycle
Design and Develop NI based test stands with help and coordination from cross functional teams in the manufacturing, software, and mechanical groups
o Develop test requirements based on compliance standards and systems requirements
o Determine connectivity between DUT and test stand I/O cards
Ensure test safety
Assist in management of testing projects and complete accompanying documentation
Desired Skills/Abilities
Individual contributor level experience designing and executing physical hardware testing using LabView
Experience in designing test systems using National Instruments hardware
Experience interfacing NI hardware to communicated and control hardware devices such as motors, actuators, sensors, CAN communication, etc
Experience with developing test automation logic and GUI using Labview
Experience in Test Stand is nice to have
Experience working with stakeholders to develop test requirements
Ability to manage testing projects and provide communication to internal and cross-functional teams
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
