Job description

The Physics Department of Carnegie Mellon University invites applications for two tenure track faculty positions in areas of theoretical quantum physics. One position is geared towards candidates with broad interests in applications of quantum field theory. The other focuses on correlated quantum states in condensed matter and could address topics such as quantum electronics, entanglement, tensor networks and their generalizations, and quantum phase transitions. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Physics or a closely related field. Appointments are expected to be made at the level of Assistant Professor. Applications should include a CV, lists of publications and invited talks, statements of research plans and teaching plans. You should arrange to have at least three letters of recommendation submitted.
