Field Engineer I
The purpose of the Field Engineer is to support electro-mechanical repair work in the shop and in the field. Field engineers are on-site technicians who install, diagnosis, and repair equipment. This job involves managing resources for field work, applying theories to address problems, writing reports to outline issues and solutions, and work with clients to provide feedback and make recommendations. Field engineers usually work most of their time at the customer's site. Field engineers are critical thinkers with strong communication and customer service skills.
Reporting
The Field Engineer I will report to the Equipment Repair Supervisor.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects.
- Be able to update supervisor on all projects to ensure team play.
- Carry out research to identify problems and develop appropriate solutions.
- Continuous research and participation in training to stay on top of what is current in field
- Oversee the maintenance of different types of equipment and infrastructure related to their industry.
- Installing new and more advanced technologies per the requirements of the research team and the needs of employees.
- Troubleshoot alarms, failures, excursions, or anything else that may arise.
- Maintain detailed reports of their work that are distributed to the service team, supervisor & customer.
- Be a representative of PAI in the field.
- All other tasks as requested by your supervisor.
Qualifications
At least 2 years experience in a similar role. Grade 2I Wastewater License. Must be technically solid in 4/20 ma input/output function, PLC's, basic electrical, pumps, motors, valves, piping, relays, basic logic, P&ID control and mechanical skill.
