Job description

We are looking for a skilled Custodian to perform cleaning and sanitation tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience and solid technical knowledge. You must possess manual dexterity and physical stamina. Responsibilities Empty wastebaskets and trash barrels located in production supervisor’s areas, offices, work cubicles, conference rooms, bathrooms, break room, and copier areas Empty confidential recycled paper into controlled containers Empty recycled cardboard and scrap metal containers using forklift Empty outdoor cigarette urns and trash cans Operate cardboard and trash compactors Sweep and mop bathrooms, hall and break room floors Wipe down and sanitize break room appliances, counters, sinks, tables, toilets and urinals Vacuum carpeted areas and mats Clean building interior windows, glass partitions, and doors Dust and vacuum flat surfaces (tables, chairs, bookcase shelves, partition walls, light fixtures, etc.) Strip and wax tile and linoleum floors Perform spot cleaning of carpets to remove stains and dirt Re-stock consumables in bathrooms and break room Assist in snow and ice removal on building entrances, walkways, and parking lots Perform basic grounds care including trash pick-up, especially around dumpster Maintain a clean and safe work area Maintain radio communications with facilities management Inventory janitorial and break room consumables to ensure supplies are available Set up and breakdown training and conference room configurations for meetings Clean production floors using hand-held and powered equipment Sweep outside walks, entrances and parking spaces Desirables Ability to operate hand and electric powered tools and equipment associated with custodial responsibilities (scrubbers, vacuum cleaners, etc.) Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems Ability to operate handheld radio and/or cell phone Knowledge and application of safe lifting procedures and practices Ability to pass a security background check Ability to work overtime Ability to balance or change priorities to accomplish non-scheduled tasks Salary: $16.00 per hour during training; $17.50 per hour when moved to 2nd shift Schedule: Training schedule - 1st shift (M-F; 7:00am-3:30pm) Second shift schedule - (M-F; 3:00pm-11:30pm) Ability to commute/relocate: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required) Experience: Facilities maintenance: 3 years (Required) Education: High school diploma Work Location: In person
