Primary Role This position serves as the company’s top technical expert in wastewater engineering and manages a staff of engineering and technical professionals that are responsible for four primary functions:Provide consultancy and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) during engineering planning and design, as well as technical support during construction, commissioning, and operation of wastewater treatment, conveyance, buried infrastructure, and biosolids facilities across the American Water business. Assume lead technical responsibilities for key projects. Manage team of internal technical resources and external consulting firms on assigned projects. Develop and update engineering standards to maximize performance, reliability, efficiency, and value of wastewater and biosolids assets. Maintain in-depth knowledge and awareness of past and future trends in technology and regulations related to wastewater and biosolids treatment, reuse, and disposal on both state and national levels. Support state engineering and business development teams with evaluating potential acquisitions and developing tools to aid in efficient transition of ownership. #LI-JS1Key Accountabilities
