Responsibilities & Duties:
- Performing industrial electrical work - new installations, maintenance of electrical equipment, troubleshooting and repair of electrical / mechanical apparatus including Preventive Maintenance procedures
- Communicate troubleshooting with team and share information.
- Actively promote Health and Safety in the workplace through adherence to all relevant policies and procedures
- Demonstrated ability and qualifications to diagnose an electrical problem accurately and efficiently, take appropriate corrective measures to undertake root cause analyses for a permanent fix
- Work within a team to provide support for the production line to troubleshoot and repair breakdowns.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area and in the maintenance shop
- Knowledge and understanding of Safety requirements and Safety procedures
- Ability to interpret and understand electrical drawings. Sourcing parts and materials for electrical projects and repair works
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team-based environment.
- Completing assigned PMs and work orders in a timely manner, be familiar with Workorders processes and Preventive Maintenance programs from initiation to closing.
- Supporting other departments including all maintenance teams (mechanical & power engineering), Setup & Sanitation teams and at times, engineering department, when required
- Attending/responding to food process machinery breakdowns in an effective and efficient manner
- Must be a hands-on person with knowledge of electrical aspects, such as programming laser printers, managing VFD parameters, replacing HMIs and / or downloading programs
- Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance and calibration activities, keep records updated
- Follow acts, regulations, and codes related to facilities, equipment, environment protection, and Health and Safety at all times
- Troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers, HMI, and VFD such as Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi.
- Coordinate with Maintenace Contractors.
- PLC training, thermal imaging, ultrasound, vibration analysis is an asset.
Position Requirements :
- Valid BC Electrical Trade ticket with electrical experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing and/or pharmaceutical plant is a definite advantage.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Be able to work quickly, under pressure, and have a sense of urgency. Keeps supervisors informed and takes responsibility for actions and decisions daily
- Have the ability to work independently or as part of a team with minimal direction
- Have strong organizational skills, detailed-oriented, and able to multitask and prioritize
- Be able to work flexible shifts, including overnight shift.
- Be physically fit and able to support lifting of parts or equipment for up to 60lbs.
- Be able to work OT as per the business needs.
- 4 x 10 or 5 x 8 hours shifts.
***Over and above job duties may be assigned related to the repair and maintenance of equipment & facility as per the business needs to support our manufacturing operations.***
