Description
SUBJECT: Extended Learning Summer Coordinator
EFFECTIVE: June 17, 2024 - August 1st, 2024 (No work on June 19th)
HOURS: Qualified applicants must be available to work Monday-Thursday; 11:00am-4:40pm.
Position Purpose:
To coordinate the Extended Learning Summer Program.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, the successful candidate must have minimum 2-year Associate Degree
or equivalent experience in supervising or coordinating youth or child care programs. Must also have
experience working in an RUSD Extended Learning program or a similar experience elsewhere.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Ability to take initiative and lead the site’s team.
2. Exceptional organizational skills.
3. Communication skills to effectively communicate with students, staff and parents.
4. Microsoft office applications including Excel and Word.
5. Ability to provide a safe nurturing enrichment environment before or after school.
6. Ability to monitor student achievement and help students to improve knowledge.
7. Ability to prioritize work load.
8. Attention to detail.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate site activities, the use of building facilities when students are on premises, and act as a liaison between building personnel, Park & Rec, and program office, so that there is a means of communicating any issues that may arise.
2. Responsible for the collection of data; snack and other assessments.
3. Provide monthly reports to Program Director using data management system as directed.
4. Address student discipline using the behavior management methods approved by the district.
5. Attend training functions related to the position and share best practice information with staff.
6. Monitor classrooms for student engagement.
7. Address concerns from parents, school day staff, and Community Partners.
Applicant selected must be available for all trainings. Coordinator/Clerk Meeting June 17 th 1-3pm; All staff PD/Planning June 18 th 10-4pm
Note : Each position is offered subject to the right of the Extended Learning Program Office to withdraw due to low enrollment of students and available funding.
