Department Summary:

The ensemble program at the University of North Texas offers more than seventy ensembles, large and small, in which students may participate. While many represent traditional areas including orchestra, band, choir, opera, and jazz, we are also proud of the large number of specialized ensembles not often supportable in smaller programs, including early music (vocal and instrumental), new music in both acoustic and electronic media, and such ethnic ensembles as mariachi, Balinese gamelan, African drumming and dancing, and other world music percussion groups.

Position Summary:

The Department of Conducting & Ensembles seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor pool and welcomes applicants at any time. This posting is for the Fall 2023, Spring 2024 and Summer 2024 semesters. The specific courses involved may vary from semester to semester and openings to teach these courses develop on a periodic basis, depending on department teaching needs.

The anticipated need is to teach MUAG 3870 – Instrumental Conducting to our conducting and related field conducting students. In addition, there will be a need to teach our Choral Literature sequence. Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Conducting.

Preferred Qualifications:

Doctoral Degree in Conducting.
