Job description
The Adult Acute Care Advanced Practice Nurse for Medicine, APN is an independent health care provider who coordinates inpatient care through collaboration with the division chief or his/her designee,
Responsibilities include:
- Organize and administer individualized age specific professional care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional procedures in the patient care setting
- Provide nursing care as directed by the medical staff and in accordance with the objectives, policies, and procedures of the hospital and the State Nurse Practice Act
- Maintain the standards of nursing care as established and participates in patient teaching and discharge
- Participate in unit Quality Improvement and educational activities
- Use an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient's age specific needs and provide age specific treatment
