Job description
Technical/Functional Skills:
12+ Advanced knowledge of AWS/GCP Services/Architecture
Experience in AWS/GCP Compute such as EC2/GCE,EKS/GKE, Lambda, Beanstalk, Batch or ECS etc
Experience in AWS/GCP Management and Governance suite of products such as CloudTrail, CloudWatch
Strong knowledge in Python object-oriented programming
Strong experience with AWS/GCP Database services such as: RDS, DynamoDB, CloudSQL, Elasticache
Experience using APIs for developing or programming software
Experience using AWS/GCP Application Integration Services such as: Simple Notification Service (SNS), Simple Queue Service (SQS), Step Functions.
Experience with AWS/GCP Developer tools such as: CodeDeploy, CodePipeline
Experience with JSON
Strong experience with SQL
Experience determining causes of operating errors and taking corrective action
Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security.
Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
Responsibilities:
Proactively monitors data quality and system health
Works with Engineering team to design new monitors
and/or implements new monitors when possible
works with dashboard designer to build reporting for stakeholders
Works with London based engineering team to produce "ready for business report" every morning
works with dashboard designer and stakeholders to constantly update report to meet their needs
Acts as the first point of engineering contact for Los Angeles based support team
Identify impacted systems and root causes
Propose fixes
Manage handover to London Engineers
Facilitate root cause communication
Able to read, understand and write python and javascript. Bonus points for Ruby too.
good understanding of AWS services
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or higher in computer science or other technical discipline
3+ years experience supporting software
