Title: Assistant Program Manager
Reports to: Program Manager
Department: Community Fusion

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Compensation: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
Program Hours: Monday- Friday, 7:30 am to 3:30 pm with lunch waiver
Supervisory Responsibility: None
Position Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager, assist in the implementation of the Community Fusion program design.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with training of Community Integration Specialists. Assist with providing complete and comprehensive training to staff and participants including monthly safety drills, monthly safety training, etc. Provide facility orientation and work training (policies and procedures, etc.) for new hires. Model professional behavior at all times especially as related to verbal and written communication, attendance, punctuality, work habits, and safety.
- Assist the Program Manager with day-to-day operations including scheduling of work hours and assignments. Provide direction and guidance to program staff as instructed by the Program Manager. Monitor training site and ensure it is kept clean and orderly, including vehicle maintenance and upkeep.
- Supervise and assist with daily set-up and clean-up routines as assigned. Ensure all equipment are stored properly, and safety is a priority.
- Ensure all participants have appropriate supervision while attending the program. This includes arrival, departure, breaks/lunches and during community outings. Transport and /or accompany participants to community-based training sites using ECF or own vehicle. Manage and assist with arrival and departure supervision and loading/unloading, as needed.
- Maintain a small case management group- With input from instructors, develop individual Program Plans, ; monitor the progress of participants goals and ensure that progress reports are completed and submitted in a timely manner. Ensure all participants attendance records are accurate and complete for billing purposes. Ensure concise documentation and timely submission of daily case notes by staff.
- Review and update paperwork including but not limited to 002, IRA (Individual Risk assessment), EMT (Emergency Medical Treatment) on a regular basis. Ensure all participants have their ECF ID on them during program hours. Ensure that annual physicals and proof of negative tuberculosis test of each participant is updated and current.
- Assist the Program Manager with staff and/or participant conflict resolution; participate in discussions and/or provide information to the Program Manager to facilitate problem resolution.
- Provide input as requested for annual staff evaluations. Supervise staff in the absence of the Program Manager. Assist staff in the planning and organizing of activities to maximize participant involvement. Clearly communicate assignments and expectations from each individual staff.
- Assist participants with personal hygiene needs including toileting, illness, and incidence of incontinence.
- On-going exploration of community resources for volunteer and recreational opportunities based on participant choice, job exploring, productive recreational activities as indicated in the curriculum and managing contacts to cultivate, grow and in maintaining each relationship. Healthy lifestyle will be supported by community partnerships, both in-house and in the community.
- Monitor established volunteer and activity sites regularly to assure that sites continue to be appropriate and beneficial to program participants.
- Inspect program vehicles regularly. Maintain vehicle logs, perform regular maintenance checks reporting issues immediately to the program manager and ensure that maintenance is kept up to date. Ensure that vehicles are kept clean and orderly.
Other Duties
- Comply with ECF's Injury and Illness Prevention Program. Ensure safe use and operation of tools and/or equipment.
- Comply with ECF policies and procedures, including mandated reporting requirements.
- Follow ECF's guidelines for reporting medical emergencies, suspected abuse and neglect and unusual incidents to case management staff, supervisory staff, or authorities.
- Regular, reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Licenses/Certifications: Bachelors degree in human services field.
Experience: Two years working with individuals who have developmental or other disabilities.
Knowledge/Abilities/Skills: - Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clientele, service providers, families, and agency personnel, observing tact and diplomacy at all times.
- Ability to write accurate and descriptive progress reports, unusual incident reports, etc.
- Ability to use sound judgment to make decisions and prioritize work and to conduct self in a professional manner at all times.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Ability to react quickly to emergencies.
- Good computer skills (Word and Excel) sufficient for report writing.
- Good organizational skills and a high level of initiative.
Requirements
- Valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, evidence of car insurance and insurable driving record.
- Pass a DOJ background investigation.
- Provide evidence of a negative TB test initially and every three years thereafter.
- Pass a pre-employment physical.
- Obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR certificates (or obtain within 60 days of employment) and NCI training (or obtain within 6 months of employment.)
Work Environment
This is a program for adults who have varying degrees of learning, behavioral, emotional, and developmental disabilities. Employee may encounter participants who are in crisis, exhibiting emotional/psychological distress or behaving in an aggressive manner. Training will be performed on site and during community outings. Occasional interactions include parents, regional center representatives, visitors, etc. Environment may include frequent interruptions, loud noise, odors, varying indoor temperature, and drafts. Outdoor temperature and weather will vary.

- Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and, in the community, using standard office equipment and mobile devices, and to attend meetings at various sites.
- Ability to circulate among participants and staff for approximately 90% of the work shift.
- Ability to lift and/move and lift up to 60 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to implement NCI, First Aid, and CPR.
- Administer medication to participants.
- Ability to read printed materials and use a computer or mobile device screen.
- Ability to communicate in person and over the telephone.
- Required to travel to various sites within Los Angeles
