Product Manager
About the role: Credit and Risk Management is intrinsic and core and to what the company does and we are seeking a Product Manager to support our new credit products.
Credit is core to what the company does and this is a management role within Credit reporting to the VP of New Credit Products.
Here is what you are responsible for: - Analyze product opportunities in Credit to either increase revenues by targeting a new segment of accounts, reduce losses or enhancing our product.
- Document business case for new projects and seek approval prioritizing business value.
- Own all enhancements to the decision engine that is used within Fleetcor and be the face of those enhancements to the Business teams.
- As Product owner, maintain a Product backlog for all features to be built and prioritized; work with business stakeholders and Risk team to prioritize.
- Measure success and implement top of class KPI management and continuously test & drive improvements to Product.
If you were here the last 6 months here are some of the things you would have done: - You would have owned intake of new projects and defined a process to intake new projects. This process would have touched on: 1. Value of project to business; 2. Effort required to arrive at that value; 3. Prioritization of the value by highest value items first.
- You would have owned the credit implementation of one of our newest credit card products:
- Set credit limits and credit policies for the credit card.
- Set guardrails to support the implementation using our transaction monitoring system.
- Worked with Product team to define the systematic Fraud checks (ID verification, bank login etc)
- Set rules to identify & detect Fraud, and decide when to manually review an application for Fraud.
- Partnered with our Data Engineering team to build data tables that you need for efficient analysis and testing of new credit products.
- Introduced new enhancements and changes to the Credit decision engine based on the recommendations of business teams; Worked on the implementation of those changes and then presented the value back to the business teams.
- Continuously tested the new credit card product for the following parameters:
- Monitoring transactions of newly approved accounts to ensure that the product is being used in the way it is meant to be used.
- Monitor fraud clearance rates of the systematic barriers built into the application and ensure that the barriers built is working as designed - to weed out the fraudulent applications.
Our ideal candidate - Has a product management background and at least 2 years of experience in a similar role
- Has extensive experience working closely with engineering teams
- Excels within stakeholder management.
- Can own the metrics process from A to Z to measure progress and success
- Easily facilitates discussions, which translate into progress and development
- Is able to facilitate progression and get other people to deliver
- Is a true self-starter and driver, who thrives working independently, and within teams
- Thinks outside the box, channeling their innovative mindset to transform problems into opportunities
- Embodies strong prioritization skills, with the ability to multitask and shift focus when needed
- May not be an expert in every field, but is able to understand and communicate a problem clearly to the right domain experts to ensure contribution and deliverables.
