Sustainable Business Consultant – Hard Assets

DLL aims at driving sustainable, profitable growth. Helping our partners to transition to a greener and more sustainable future and be the transition partner of choice for our vendors and customers. Sustainable business growth is one of the Corporate KPIs of DLL.

This role requires thorough understanding of both the external changing context with challenges and drivers for sustainable business development, as well as internal landscape to accelerate DLLs Sustainable Business development and vendor engagement (particularly in ‘hard asset industries’ of Food & Agriculture and Construction, Transportation and Industrial). It concretely requires expertise to assess our vendor partners on sustainability topics, and to support the business in defining relevant interventions.

Additionally, it requires competences in progress monitoring and steering commercial strategies to assure completion of corporate KPIs. Finally, it requires competences to effectively engage with internal as well as external stakeholders and skills to drive sustainable business and thought leadership, in a context that can include competing aspirations between DLLs business growth and reduction of environmental footprint. Scale of this work is global at DLL, with Hard Asset business units in 25+ countries.

Day to day:

• Partner Assessment: Manage annual partner assessments and ongoing engagement in sustainability topics for DLL’s ‘Hard Asset’ global business units (GBUs); including Food & Agriculture, Construction, Transportation and Industrial. Support manufacturers and end-users in the transition to more sustainable business models and measure progress.
• Sustainable Finance: Align business units with related departments like Risk for supporting the Risk-Reward-Sustainability balance, and DLL’s Product Management team to scale sustainable products and solutions.
• Strategy advice: Strategic advice to business units in defining industry-specific sustainability strategies for key partners. Researching and advising on sustainable transition models, green funding & subsidy schemes. Assuring the provision of sustainability market forecasts and trend insights to business units, in collaboration with DLL strategic Marketing and Communication departments.

Measures:

This role is linked to one of DLLs corporate KPIs. The role includes strategic advice to Hard Asset business units to become the sustainable transition partner for our vendors. The role covers a global scope and relates to all Hard Asset GBUs.

Essentials:

• A pre-requisite is sensitivity to the expectations and demands from society, regulators and other stakeholders, both in The Netherlands and the countries DLL is active.
• Another pre-requisite is sensitivity to the expectations of our vendor partners, and an ability to work with them to achieve shared sustainability goals.
• Key interactions of this job requiring Advisory, Cooperation, Analytical, Networking, Representation and Communications skills
• With DLL’s GBUs (hard assets) for sharing insights and advice on sustainability trends, strategy development, advice on commercial strategies and vendor engagement
• Minimum of two years education or experience in sustainability, business strategy and/or finance

Applicable pay range

$70.000,00 - $100.000,00 

DLL is considering candidates in numerous locations. The pay estimate displayed represents the typical pay range for candidates hired for this position in the desired primary work location. Pay may be adjusted outside the projected range based on geographical differentiation as well as for any other lawful reason. Additional factors that may be used to determine your actual pay include your specific skills, years of relevant experience you possess, and other work-related qualifications. Many candidates may start in the bottom half of the applicable pay range, especially those with less experience or qualification.

This position is subject to the terms of DLL’s compensation plans and policies. Further, the position includes all other benefits provided to DLL employees, including healthcare benefits, 401k matching, vacation, sick leave, parental leave, possible discretionary bonuses, and all other benefits that are all governed by and subject to ERISA plan documents and eligibility.
