Job description

WaferWire Cloud Technologies is seeking a Senior Programmer Writer. As a part of our team, you will play a pivotal role in the creation, curation, and maintenance of documentation for Azure deployments. Our work involves documenting various deployment mechanisms such as PowerShell, CLI, and other technologies used by customers to deploy Azure resources. You can expect a dynamic workload, with 5% of your time allocated to meetings, 10% to communication with project leads and writers, and a significant portion, 50%, dedicated to researching and testing code examples and test cases.

With a focus on maintaining and updating documentation, approximately 35% of your time will be spent ensuring our documentation remains accurate and up-to-date. You will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with a seasoned FTE writer, who is a leader in the field, providing you with invaluable mentorship and guidance.

Role: Senior Programmer Writer

Location: Remote [Redmond, WA]

The main function of a Technical Writer is to write technical materials, such as equipment materials, appendices, or operating and maintenance instructions. A typical technical writer is responsible for organizing, editing and maintaining technical records and files.

Job Responsibilities:

• Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology
• Maintain records and files of work and revisions
• Confer with client to establish technical specifications and to determine subject material to be developed for publication

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science or english, journalism, communications
• 8-10 years experience required
• Experience in in creating documentation for a technical audience
• Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
• Ability to read some programming code
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Top 3 Hard Skills Required

1. Minimum 2 years experience with: Experience in in creating documentation for a technical audience
2. Minimum 2 years experience with : Azure CLI and related technologies such as power shell
3. Minimum 2 years experience with: working knowledge of cloud deployment
