Principal Duties and Responsibilities
St. Matthew Catholic school is currently accepting applications for the 2024-2025 school for the position of 6th grade teacher. The 6th grade teacher at St. Matthew Catholic school plays a crucial role in fostering academic, social, and spiritual development in students. This position involves creating a positive and faith-centered learning environment, implementing a comprehensive curriculum, and instilling Catholic values in students.
Design and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the school's curriculum and educational standards.
Integrate Catholic teachings, values, and morals into instruction.
Provide effective instruction in core subjects such as Math, Science, Reading, and Religion.
Maintain open and regular communication with parents regarding students’ academic and behavioral process.
Manage classroom activities, transitions, and behavior effectively, fostering a positive and respectful atmosphere.
Develop and administer formative and summative assessments to measure student understanding and progress.
Effectively observes assigned work hours-maintaining a pattern of prompt and regular attendance.
Maintains a cooperative working relationship with the Principal, staff, and public.
Demonstrates ethical behavior and confidentiality.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal.

Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesPatience, creativity, and a passion for middle school aged students.

Excellent communication skills.
Serve as a positive role model, guiding students in moral and ethical development.
Ability to create a supportive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment.
Education and ExperienceBachelor degree in Education from an accredited college.
Valid Nebraska state teaching certificate with appropriate middle school endorsement.
Must complete an archdiocesan background check. (required)
Safe Environment training.
Previous experience teaching middle school, preferably in a Catholic or faith-based school.
