Our client produces seamless stainless steel precision tube to support customers in the semiconductor industry.
Job Summary
This successful candidate will operate machinery for the manufacture of seamless stainless steel pipe and tubing, including pointing, drawing, and intermediate cutting mills; maintain good operating condition of all equipment; and make mechanical maintenance repairs with assistance of maintenance personnel.
Job Description
- Operate various tools and gauges (hand-operated, air or electric driven) including micrometers, calipers, radius tools, hammers, sledges, wrenches, metal grinders, etc
- Hook up machinery, equipment, tube, etc. to cranes by cable, straps or chains; Keep and write clear, concise reports in accordance with all safety rules and regulations and report potentially dangerous situations to appropriate personnel
Mill Machine Operation – 65%
- Adhere to company health and safety standards.
- Follow the established policies, rules and regulations and procedures.
- Reporting any hazardous operations to the supervisor immediately.
- Maintaining a clean workstation and production floor.
- Working on the production line and meeting production targets.
- Performing regular maintenance to meet production quality expectations.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Handle, adjust, replace, bind & bundle up, or repair any part of the line or material processed in line.
- Use Catwalks, step ladders, and work at heights up to 50ft. and in pits to 20 ft. in depth.
- Must be able to work effectively in team environment and with minimal supervision.
- Handle some hot material and work in close proximity to equipment flooded with lubricating and cooling water.
- Use gas metal cutting, burning, and electrical welding equipment when necessary.
- Train and operate overhead cranes and mobile equipment.
- Seeks constant improvement, more efficient and less expensive ways and means in work processes.
- Maintains good communication with supervisors, office staff members and co-workers .
- Load and/or unload trucks to stock racks and workbenches with tubes.
Other & Miscellaneous – 10%
- Helps other employees and work sections as required
- Performs special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisors/Leadman.
- Maintains high ethical standards in the work place.
- Reports all irregular issues and problems to supervisors for solution.
Skills Required
- Ability to load and/or unload trucks with tubes
- Perform four arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Read and write specifications and standards
- Crane and mobile equipment operation (if necessary)
- Demonstrate trouble shooting

Education/Training/Certifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or more three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Safety training certification
- Crane certification (if tubes are loaded or unloaded)

- Work is performed primarily in a factory production work environment. Works are done frequently under very loud conditions and near moving mechanical parts. Temperature conditions can change fro m cold to extremely hot. The chance to be exposed to fumes or airborne particles is high.
- The employee is required to frequently stand, walk, use hands and fingers and reach with hands and arms.
- Also, the employee must be able to read and analyze data in hard copy and on a computer screen; Also requires the ability to measure or identify using eyesight.
