Job description
The Good Samaritan Home of Quincy is looking for a Night Supervisor (RN) to join our growing team! The right candidate will have a current Illinois state license as an RN and have a friendly attitude along with excellent communication skills. The primary purpose of your job position is to provide direct nursing care to the residents and to supervise the day-to-day activities performed by staff nurse, nursing assistants and non-certified nursing personnel. Such supervision must be in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may be required by the Director of Nursing Services, or designees, to ensure the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times. Responsibilities - Supervise the day-to-day activities performed by staff nurse, nursing assistants and non-certified nursing personnel
- Complete initial and ongoing assessments to identify the physical, psychosocial, and environmental needs of home health patients
- Assess patients’ conditions
- Send chart observations, and perform evaluation tasks including vital signs and medication review
- Administer medication as prescribed by the patient’s physician
- Educate patients and their families on proper home health care strategies and procedures, and make recommendations for devices or tools that might improve the patient’s quality of life
- Provide effective communication to patients/clients, their family members, team members, and other health care professionals
Qualifications - Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate, or Bachelor’s School of Nursing, or vocational nursing
- Current Illinois state license as an RN
- Proof of current CPR certification
- Compassionate, friendly demeanor
- Excellent communication skills
- Current driver’s license or reliable transportation
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
