We currently have an open position for an Appointment Specialist. This is an hourly, non-exempt full-time position.

The Center for Family Health is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) located in Jackson, Michigan. We are a multi-specialty clinic with practitioners specializing in the areas of Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and
Ob/Gyn. Our agency has expanded greatly over the years and now has our medical, dental, pharmacy and support services as well as four school-based health centers in the Jackson area. For more information on the Center for Family Health go to

Position Summary :

Responsible for providing excellent customer service, answering phone calls and scheduling appointments for patients, and ensuring completion of registration information.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Understands scheduling procedures for all medical providers.
• Schedules appointments for patients over telephone.
• Verifies all demographic information in practice management system.
• Answers all patient questions regarding our services and connects patients with appropriate personnel.
• Checks InBasket daily and completes pending tasks.
• Assess needs for transportation and translation assistance and schedule as needed.
• Check the call-in lines.
• Follow-up with patients for missed appointments to identify barriers.
• Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work practices and instructions.

Education/Training/Experience:

• Minimum of High School Diploma
• Previous medical office experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical insurance rules preferred.
