About the role

Location: The role is based in East Hanover, NJ, USA, with a requirement of 12 days per month in the office.

The Novartis Global Mobility team is seeking a Global Mobility Leader for the Americas.


What you will be doing:


• Global Mobility (GM) Consultant (individual contributor - non managerial position) accountable for designated populations/customers, providing support and technical expertise on planned moves to the Talent Acquisition (TA) , People & Organization (P&O) and the various business units.
• Builds and maintains strong working relationships with key Rewards, P&O & TAS colleagues, building awareness on Global Mobility frameworks and processes, compliance topics and highlighting tax, social security, immigration, equity and payroll issues where relevant.
• Ability to act as an internal consultant to internal business groups (Rewards, P&O, TAS) to help them achieve their talent and business goals in a compliant and effective framework, while managing expectations of the business in relation to the global mobility process (e.g., anticipating potential issues and proactively communicating).
• Acts as a single point of contact for complex or high profile moves to coordinate timely and accurate service delivery across all vendors and internal teams
• Proactively addresses requirements of their customer group with other stakeholders in the Global Mobility team to ensure that Global Mobility frameworks, processes and vendors are fit for purpose and continue to meet business & talent needs
• Partners closely with Novartis external vendors to initiate and manage relocation and on-assignment support. Project manages the move to ensure seamless vendor integration in the mobility cycle so the associate and business may have a positive mobility experience
• Manages international assignment compensation and benefits through accurate data maintenance and preparation of packages, Cost Projections, Payment Orders, and Service Initiations etc. Understands global payroll, tax, social security, relocation support, housing, cost of living, tax equalization, equity and immigration requirements and their impact upon international compensation and benefits
• Takes an active role in leading continuous improvement initiatives within the Global Mobility team and broader Rewards teams, which will contribute to meeting talent and business goals. Can challenge the status quo and bring potential solutions and different points of view.
• Has an interest in future of work and workplace trends, customer experience enhancements and digital technologies, bringing relevant insights to the attention of the Global Mobility leadership team
• Provides empathetic support to the associate throughout the mobility cycle to make the mobility process seem effortless for the associate whilst proactively delivering Global Mobility services. Maintains frequent contact with designated population of mobile associates and ensure a proactive delivery of Global Mobility services. Effectively manages expectations of mobile associates by taking a consultative and proactive approach, being an effective and flexible communicator, and educating and coaching associates on global mobility issues as appropriate.
• Coaches and mentors junior mobility associates within the wider team, sharing knowledge on complex cases, helping to review and provide input on their work where needed

Role Requirements

What you will bring to the role:


• University degree or equivalent in education and experience. Further education in HR preferred
• 8+ years of experience in assignment management, or other complex P&O or Rewards areas
• Knowledge of end-to-end assignment and global mobility processes including payroll, tax, social security and immigration
• In depth understanding of global mobility policies and the application of various policy types
• Experience working with international mobility service providers, or other external service providers
• Experience working in complex multi-national organizations an advantage
• Knowledge of HR processes, tools
• Operational understanding of TOPIA Move Management System preferred

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $151,200.00 and $226,800.00 per year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/24 through 12/31/24, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
