SALARY :$27.52/Hr. (NEGOTIABLE)
(Employees will receive 5% below the negotiated pay rate during their probationary status)

POSITION SUMMARY

Competently and independently perform basic and intermediate radiologic imaging procedures per department procedural requirements. Continuation of this position is contingent upon funding allocations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Closely follows physician’s orders and instruction.
  2. Appropriately provide guidance to physicians, co-workers, and students, regarding ordering exams when requested.
  3. Accurately enters x-ray and mammography orders into Athena (current Electronic Medical Records, EMR) when necessary.
  4. Appropriately prepares and operates equipment.
  5. Appropriately receives and guides the patient to and from the Radiology Department.
  6. Appropriately establishes rapport with patients and other persons involved with the patients care.
  7. Accurately confirms patient identity with two different identifiers.
  8. Accurately captures patient history and reason for exam.
  9. Appropriately answers and explains any questions asked by the patient.
  10. Ability to be compassionate and caring.
  11. Practice universal precaution guidelines always during patient care.
  12. Wash hands before and after donning and doffing gloves. Thoroughly cleans, disinfects, and wipes down all equipment and tools used before/after each exam. In compliance with quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
  13. Appropriately prepares and positions patient.
  14. Appropriately aids patients depending on their ambulatory abilities.
  15. Remains with the patient for the entirety of the exam.
  16. Accurately captures the images requested.
  17. Accurately evaluate clinical images and correct positioning and technique to obtain proficient diagnostic exam.
  18. Ensure that all patient history and notes are entered into the patient’s exam notes and EXA PACS (Picture Archiving System).
  19. Accurately retrieves and documents any prior exams that are related to current exam.
  20. Accurately completes all exam related documentation as required by Radiology Protocols.
  21. Minimizes radiation exposure to patient and staff by adhering to ALARA, the guiding principle of radiation safety.
  22. Adheres to wearing personal Landauer radiation dosimeter badge throughout every shift.
  23. Monitor and maintain stock supplies for department needs.
  24. Communicate in a timely manner and effectively when ordering supplies for restocking.
  25. Accurately perform Quality Control (QC) tests as required by equipment manufacturers.
  26. Accurately perform and complete documentation of Mammography QC tests as required by governing bodies.
  27. Maintain a clean and organized office area, free of personal belongings and food.
  28. Personal cellphones will remain concealed and away from tech workstations.
  29. Appropriately and accurately maintain daily patient log.
  30. Accurately maintain Mammography result tracking log in compliance with Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA), recording results, patient letters, follow up, and any other required documentation.
  31. Accurately retrieve and review all imaging reports for accuracy/errors.
  32. Maintains strong understanding of departmental workflows and all relevant federal, state, and institutional guidelines, regulations, policies, and standards in accordance with the provisions of the Radiology Department services.
  33. Participate in and attend in-services, educational programs, review published works, to improve and learn new skills.
  34. Maintain current continued educations credits.
  35. Assist in orientating and training new Technologists.
  36. Treat all Patients, co-workers, staff with dignity and respect.
  37. Efficiently performs all general office duties.
  38. Work with outside providers and facilities for continuum of patient care.
  39. Maintains production by developing a daily priority list that allows all scheduled exams to be completed and accommodates all same day add on exams.
  40. Knowledge of applicable Oneida Nation, Federal, State, County, and local laws, regulations, and requirements.
  41. Maintain strict departmental security, confidentiality, and quality to meet professional standards of the department.
  42. Participate in all facility drills and emergency code reviews.
  43. Adhere to all Tribal Personnel policies and procedures, Tribal standard operating procedures, area and program strategic plans and policies.
  44. The above duties and responsibilities are not an all-inclusive list but rather a general representation of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position. The duties and responsibilities will be subject to change based on organizational needs and/or deemed necessary by the supervisor.

PHYSICAL & STANDARD REQUIREMENTS

  1. Frequently walk, stand, bend, lift, and use hands and arms; occasionally, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Ability to lift and/or move up to fifty (50) lbs. with assistance.
  2. Work is generally performed in a Medical/Clinical setting with moderate noise levels, where employees may be exposed to unpleasant odors, hazardous materials, and infectious disease. Situations for safety goggles, gloves, or protective face shields may occur. Work environment may include exposure to life and death situations. In case of severe weather or emergencies the employee may be required to stay until an appropriate replacement is found and relieves the employee.
  3. Evening and/or weekend work may be required. Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
  4. A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or a 2 step TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment.

STANDARD QULAIFICATIONS

  1. Appropriately work in a team setting while adapting to new workflows, equipment upgrades, processes, policies, and procedures, to create a more efficient department.
  2. Ability to communicate in the English language, and follow instructions, both verbally and in writing.
  3. Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with the individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels.
  4. Work independently with minimal supervision.
  5. Exercise independent judgement and accountability.
  6. Manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with the ability to organize and prioritize work effectively.
  7. Skill in operating various word processing, spreadsheets, and data base software programs in a Windows environment. Including Picture Archiving Systems (PACS).
  8. Maintain direct departmental security, confidentiality, and quality to meet professional standards of the department.
  9. Operate and maintain department equipment including accurate logs/records.
  10. Knowledge of appropriate radiographic exposure factors, safety parameters, procedures, and standards.
  11. Knowledge of American College of Radiology (ACR) Accreditation.
  12. Knowledge of Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA).
  13. Knowledge of Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) Accreditation.
  14. Must complete Oneida Certification on Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect training within ninety (90) days of employment.
  15. Must complete Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) training within thirty (30) days of employment and annually thereafter.
  16. Must be Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified.
  17. Maintains production and quality imaging by following established department policies, procedures, and objectives.
  18. Must be willing and able to obtain additional education and training.
  19. Must comply with Caregiver Law and Grant conditions criminal history checks as a condition of employment to include fingerprinting.
  20. Must comply with and pass a pre-employment drug screening. Must adhere to the Nation's Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy during employment.
  21. Employees are required to have proof of immunity or dates of 2 doses of MMR and Varicella prior to starting in any position within the Oneida Comprehensive Health Division. Any refusal of vaccination(s) or failure to provide proof of immunity may disqualify the applicant.
  22. Must pass a background security check with the Oneida Nation to meet the Employment Eligibility Requirements, Tribal/State Compact and/or Oneida Nation Gaming Ordinance as they pertain to the position. A temporary license or Gaming License issued by the Oneida Gaming Commission is required as a condition of employment and continuing employment within the Oneida Nation’s Gaming Division.
  23. A valid driver’s license or occupational driver’s license, reliable transportation and insurance is required. Must obtain a Wisconsin driver’s license or occupational driver’s license within thirty (30) days of employment if applicant has an out-of-state driver’s license. Must be authorized as eligible to operate a Personal and Tribal vehicle under the Oneida Nation’s Vehicle Driver Certification and Fleet Management Law prior to actual start date. Must maintain driver’s eligibility as a condition of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Two (2) years’ experience preferred in a Radiography Department.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s or associate degree required in Radiography.
  2. ARRT Board Certified in Radiology.
  3. ARRT Board Certified in Mammography (or complete course within 12 months upon hire).
  4. State of WI Radiographer License.
  5. Must be current in all required CMEs for X-ray and Mammography.
