Position Summary
We have a great immediate opportunity for an outstanding full-time legal assistant (paralegal/secretary) with 1-5 years of IP Legal experience. We are an intellectual property law firm located in Alexandria, VA.
Key Roles & Responsibilities Duties may include but are not limited to:
- Patent Prosecution including patent application filing, responding to the office actions from PTO, and following up with the notice of allowance from PTO.
- Review and respond to emails.
- Review and distribute team hard mail
- Providing overflow assistance, as needed .

- Excellent listening and comprehension skills.
- Great organizational skills and the ability to be a self-starter.
- Willingness to perform entry-level functions as well as tackle higher-level projects.
- Flexible, can-do attitude.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Ability to utilize basic office equipment.

Minimum Education/Certification A two-year associate's degree or a four-year college degree is preferred.
Minimum Experience Experienced in working with Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills required. Must demonstrate professionalism, courtesy, cooperation, respect for others, and relationship-building skills.
Special Skills and Knowledge Understanding of the USPTO patent process, and familiarity with Anaqua (AQX) and Pro Law a plus. Candidates who have KOREAN or JAPANESE reading and writing skills are preferred.
