Job description
Reporting to the VP Operations, the Operations Director is responsible for providing contract oversight and leadership of assigned projects to Facility Managers in support of our Operations & Maintenance Contracts, as well as supporting Business and Program Development efforts. This individual is responsible for delivering a superior Customer experience for both internal and external Customers.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure that each EthosEnergy operated Facility is operated and maintained in a Safe and environmentally responsible manner.
- Provide supervision and leadership to each Facility Manager. Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities for Facility Management staff to ensure appropriate skill sets are maintained. This includes the implementation and scheduling of training programs that cover operations, maintenance, safety, and regulatory areas.
- Fully understand contracts, O&M Agreements and where applicable Long Term Service Agreements and Collective Bargaining Agreements for each Facility and ensure that the terms and activities of each agreement are followed and satisfied. Ensure all reports and information required under the terms of the O&M Agreement are prepared and submitted in a timely manner.
- Support EthosEnergy O&M policy development and ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and commercial commitments.
- Implement programs and activities that provide for a work environment that promotes effective goal accomplishment, productivity, and morale.
- Establish and maintain regular communications with Facility Owners to discuss plant performance and problem resolution. Schedule periodic meetings with Owners as per the O&M Agreements.
- Collect and / or review O&M Financial, HS&E and Quality performance looking for trends that would allow proactive implementation of countermeasures.
- Participate in EthosEnergy O&M Business Development meetings and activities. Help prepare O&M proposals for new and renewal projects and help identify potential business opportunities.
- Implement process improvements within EthosEnergy O&M, contribute to OneEthos improvements and help identify and track key performance indicators at both the plant level and corporate level.
- Special projects as assigned.
Required Skills / Knowledge
- A thorough demonstrated understanding of power plant operations, including a working knowledge of the O&M function.
- A strong understanding and commitment to Quality Management Systems and Programs.
- A thorough, demonstrated knowledge of energy facility operations, O&M contracts and management methods are necessary to control and improve the business.
- A working knowledge or chemistry as it relates to plant operations as well as environmental and water treatment programs and statutory regulations.
- Understanding of budgets, bid proposals, contract evaluation, and basic accounting principles, plant economics, and power pool operations.
- Analyze and interpret data to make sound professional judgements and recommendations.
- Ability to manage and motivate subordinates.
- Travel is required to meet with Facility Managers, Owner, and Contractor Representatives and for Corporate and Industry meetings and events.
