Job Title : Controller
FLSA Status : Exempt
Reports to : Chief Accounting Officer
Position Summary : Maintains the timely and accurate processing of transactions that support the general ledger, cash management, tax, and audit functions. This position will have direct responsibility for accounts receivable/payable, inventory, fixed assets, and cash. The Controller will be responsible for closely affiliated and subsidiary reporting.

Accounting Department Mission:

Role Qualifications : Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in accounting or finance and five plus years of accounting experience, CPA preferred.
Position Responsibilities :
- Builds Relationships
- Promotes Living Brand
- Ensures all accounting practices are in compliance with GAAP standards and established accounting principles
- Oversees General Ledger and systems for corporation reporting
- Leads month end consolidation and balance sheet review
- Leads efficiency projects within accounting department
- Controls the payment and collection processes, identifying discrepancies and reconciling accounts
- Oversees, monitors, and works to improve accounting procedures, internal controls, and database management
- Leads external audit
- Manages quarterly internal audits
- Manages the accounting staff including the development of cross training for all positions
- Participates in and contributes to management meetings
- Accepts other duties as assigned

Physical demands and work environment:
- Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to both sit and type for prolonged periods; work longer than eight (8) hour shifts, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch; talk and hear; taste and smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
- Work Environment: Must have flexibility, all days of the week, when necessary. The natural accounting cycle ebbs and flows and dictates things like vacation approval.
