Job description

We are seeking a dedicated Remote Medical Assistant to join our team and play a pivotal role in supporting day-to-day operations with a focus on exceptional administrative tasks and high-quality customer service for both providers and patients. This non-clinical position requires a detail-oriented and compassionate individual who can handle sensitive information with confidentiality, multitask efficiently, and prioritize effectively.

Primary Responsibilities:

Customer Service Excellence: Demonstrate strong customer service skills and telephone etiquette to ensure a positive experience for providers and patients.

Medical Terminology and Technology: Exhibit familiarity with medical terms and technology to facilitate seamless communication within the healthcare environment.

Compliance and Ethics: Understand and adhere to laws and ethics governing medical practices, ensuring all activities are conducted with the highest standards of integrity.

Administrative Proficiency: Showcase strong computer skills, data entry expertise, and office management capabilities to contribute to the smooth functioning of daily tasks.

Communication Skills: Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating empathy and compassion in interactions with patients.

Problem-Solving and Attention to Detail: Exhibit strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, essential for navigating the various responsibilities of the role.

Patient Care Coordination: Facilitate patient care coordination, including scheduling meetings, summit billing reports, faxing/mailing orders, and maintaining providers' schedules.

Liaison and Collaboration: Act as a liaison between the hospital and providers, while effectively communicating with Primary Care Physicians (PCPs) to ensure seamless operations.

Data Management: Handle data entry, patient chart reviews, and maintain accurate and up-to-date records.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Customer service experience is a plus.

Skills and Abilities:

Effective written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
Initiative, creativity, and problem-solving ability.
Ability to collaborate with colleagues for the delivery of quality healthcare.
Capacity to work under pressure.
Computer literacy and personable demeanor.
Additional Qualifications:

Experience: Prior experience using an electronic medical records system (EMR) is advantageous.

Language Skills: Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred.

Reporting:

Reports directly to the Executive Director.

Physical Requirements:

Communicate effectively with patients and staff.
Sit, stand, or view a computer screen for extended periods.
Perform repetitive hand and wrist motions.
Use hands and fingers to handle or feel.
Reach with hands and arms.
