Job Description:
The Program Director will provide leadership for the University of Florida College Reach-Out Program (CROP). This position will report to the Director of Community Engagement and Outreach, K-12. CROP is a grant-funded program designed to provide students from low-income families and/or students with unique academic abilities access to successfully entering and completing education at a postsecondary institution.
The responsibilities of this position include overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of the CROP project. This includes attending workshops, conferences and trainings that support the purpose of the program. Meeting quarterly with the University of Florida CROP Advisory Board of Directors, which consists of the Director of Community Engagement and Outreach, faculty, parents, teachers, business leaders, and community members. As well as work with faculty, staff and student organizations at UF to assist CROP students in their educational needs and develop promotional literature including brochures, newsletters, articles and display ads to inform community about the CROP services.
The incumbent will actively recruit students from Alachua County. They will develop and implement weekly meetings throughout the academic year for academic enrichment and tutoring, as well as events that promote post-secondary education including college tours. This position is responsible for developing and implementing summer activities including the CROP Summer Residency for middle and/or high school students from UF CROP and CROP programs at other participating institutions. They will monitor students progress and maintain confidential database files and hard copy records for CROP while ensuring that all activities are in accordance with federal, state and University of Florida laws and policies.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and monitoring the program budget and establishing relationships with key stakeholders and partners to facilitate success for participants. As well as hire, train, supervise, and evaluate program staff and ensure compliance with federal, state, and university regulations and guidelines.
Expected Salary:
$57,000 to $60,000 annually; commensurate with education and experience.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in teaching and/or youth program administration.
- Excellent analytic, written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work with students, staff, faculty, and administrators from diverse backgrounds and administrative units.
