Job Description: We are currently seeking a Lead Cook to work at the Oaks Correctional Facility in Manistee, MI. This position will serve as a lead worker overseeing prisoner workers in the preparation and service of meals for both prisoners and staff. The role involves adhering to MDOC standardized processes, recipes, menus, and reporting procedures within the correctional facility.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise prisoner workers in the preparation and service of meals.
- Ensure compliance with MDOC standardized processes, recipes, menus, and reporting requirements.
- Maintain a safe and efficient kitchen environment.
- Collaborate with the team to meet dietary requirements and restrictions.
Required Education and Experience:
- Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school.
- Two years of experience in quantity cooking and food preparation, including one year equivalent to a Cook E6.
Additional Requirements and Information:
- Successful completion of Non-Custody New Employee Training (NCNET) for new hires.
- Applicants with felony convictions may be screened out according to Public Act 191 of 2017.

Salary: $21.05 - $25.46 Hourly
