What is the role of the Quality Division?
The Quality Division is in the Construction Group. This team is responsible for quality testing on materials used in the making of asphalt materials along with its use in heavy highway and road construction.
Requirements
What is a Quality Field Technician at Banks Construction?
This person gets to complete a variety of tasks in effort to correctly obtain material samples, conduct quality testing, and analyze material performance.
What you will get to do:
- Responsible for all field testing required in accordance with the specifications of each project, with particular attention to all reports and paperwork necessary
- Assist in maintaining the company’s quality goals
- Perform daily quality control tests on asphalt product to ensure compliance with specifications of various projects according to federal, state and local regulations
- Adhere to all safety and environmental rules and regulations
- Prepare reports requested by the Quality Control Manager, accurately and in a timely fashion
- Obtain aggregate samples from rail cars and stockpiles, including moisture samples
- Use various lab equipment such as the nuclear gauge, high temperature ovens and a variety of coring saws to conduct testing procedures
- Assist in the establishment and enforcement of all productivity standards
- Any other responsibilities as assigned
Who you are:
- Holder of a current SCDOT Asphalt Roadway Certification (highly preferred) or able to complete the required training within first 6 months of employment.
- Possess the ability to follow specific directions with high attention to detail
- Clean three (3) year Motor Vehicle Record
- Ability to work effectively in a road construction environment
- Demonstrated solid judgment and problem-solving abilities
- Strong math skills
- Ability to lift up to 45 lbs and walk long distances
- Availability for rotating weekend and night work as needed
