Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for healthcare administration? We are seeking a dedicated Medical Billing Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of our billing process while providing exceptional service to our patients.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Account Management: Handle patient accounts with care and precision, preparing invoices and maintaining accurate records.
- Data Management: Input and update patient information using computer software, ensuring all records are kept up-to-date.
- Communication: Liaise with patients, medical insurance companies, and collection agencies in a friendly and professional manner to obtain authorizations and resolve billing inquiries.
- Administrative Support: Perform various administrative tasks including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and assisting with inquiries.
- Follow-up: Proactively follow up on overdue accounts, ensuring timely resolution while adhering to established procedures and regulations.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry trends and regulations, continuously improving your skills and knowledge to provide top-notch service.
- Confidentiality: Handle patient records and information with the utmost confidentiality and integrity.
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required. Associate's degree in accounting, business, or related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of administrative experience in a medical or healthcare setting.
- Skills: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Proficiency in basic mathematics and computer literacy. Attention to detail and organizational skills are essential.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with medical billing procedures and coding (ICD-10 knowledge preferred).
- Availability: Full-time or part-time availability with flexibility in hours. Remote work setting.
