CapturePoint is an oil and gas company with operations in Texas and Oklahoma. Our current assets are primarily CO2-enhanced oil recovery (EOR) projects that utilize a significant volume of anthropogenic CO2 to recover oil that would not otherwise be retrieved from existing oil fields. As the HSE Specialist – Environmental, you will assist in maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal air quality regulations and other assigned environmental management tasks from a corporate level.
To be successful, you should have: - Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Biology, or Geology required.
- Minimum of 4 years experience in environmental compliance, air permitting, and/or management.
- Solid understanding of state and federal air permits related to upstream O&G operations and associated compliance requirements. Knowledge of federal regulations such as NSPS JJJJ, NESHAP ZZZZ, and NSPS OOOO/OOOOa, b & c.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.
- Experience in oil and gas production, midstream, or refining is strongly preferred.
- Certificates in ProMax, HazWOPER, E&P Tanks, Water9, Glycalc, and Dispersion Modeling preferred.
- Preferred experience with environmental sustainability protocols and knowledge of total emissions (Scope 1, 2, and 3) inputs and quantification.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, planning, process improvement, and organizational skills are required.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with team members at all levels required.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
Your responsibilities as the HSE Specialist – Environmental will include: - Working with available emission calculation tools and software to assist in air permitting evaluation.
- Analyzing the air permitting data and developing air quality compliance protocols related to permitting and federal standards that include but are not limited to monitoring, testing, recordkeeping, and reporting for tank batteries, SWDs, and CO2 recycling facilities.
- Establishing systems for continuous compliance with all applicable air quality regulations across company assets.
- Effectively communicating with field and corporate operations personnel on the air permitting requirements subject to their facilities and assisting with field implementation of compliance programs and procedures across all assets.
- Supporting corporate tracking programs for air quality compliance related to state Permitting (Kansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas), federal regulations, and air emission events. Working with assets to ensure program usage and compliance.
- Monitoring and maintaining HSE software programs/databases, inputting historical data.
- Supporting monthly and annual HSE statistical reports.
- Maintaining positive relationships with field operations, regulatory agencies, and consultants.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the HSE Director. Although not the focus, it should be prepared to support a broad range of HSE functions.
