Essential Job Duties:
This position serves as a Lead Stock Associate at the Talley Student Union kitchen and Rave! Catering.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Receive food deliveries daily following proper health/location department procedures, put stock away and fill requisitions.
- Rotate stock appropriately.
- Assist production staff with daily needs of items and storage.
- Maintain and update catering event book for production kitchen
- Create and update catering and CBORD service menus
- Update and maintain bakery order schedule
- Assist Purchasing Specialist with generation of order schedules, monthly inventory, and vendor ordering. Review all completed transfer requisitions and prepare them for issuing, and generate and disseminate production reports
- Relay changes to catering production staff in a timely and accurate manner
- Provide accurate data entry in Foodservice Suite and C-Bord and ensure accurate data is in Event Master software
- Serve as back up for the Purchasing Specialist.

- Understand the goals and culture of the organization, and understand how employees’ work activities, teamwork, and customer service impact clients. Work with your supervisor and colleagues to understand these goals and the culture.
- Adhere to all University policies, procedures, and regulations, and Division standard operating practices and protocols.
- Due to operational needs of the NC State Dining department, an employee may be assigned to work in any NC State Dining department including, but not limited to special events.
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure NC State Dining business needs are met.
Qualifications:
Minimum Experience/Education:
High school diploma or equivalency.
Other Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated excellent customer service skills via telephone, in person, e-mail.
- Ability to use or learn to use email
- Accurate data entry
- Ability to work a flexible schedule if business dictates.
- Ability to convey information accurately and timely.
- Ability to learn new department specific software.
- Ability to facilitate the work flow, change priorities and work efficiently in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate with internal and external customers using knowledge of NC State Dining policies and procedures.
- Provide timely and accurate problem resolution.
- Must be able to routinely lift 50 pounds, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Requires bending, twisting, pulling and pushing. Because of the nature of a food service operations and working in a kitchen, you must be able to work in extremely hot and cold conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in receiving of stock
- Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation processes.
- Previous food service experience.
- Experience using food service ordering systems such as C-Bord.
