Job description

The Director of Alumni/ae Relations and Annual Giving is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing all components of an alumni/ae program to actively engage alumni/ae in the mission and life of Touro University Nevada (Touro).

 

The Director will develop and execute a multi-year strategic plan for alumni/ae engagement and initiate a broad range of alumni/ae and donor events to increase Touro’s alumni/ae participation rate (i.e., alumni/ae giving). The position will implement strategies to increase the value of the Touro degree by nurturing school spirit, the growth of the Touro alumni/ae network, growing an alumni/ae mentorship program, implementing an alumni/ae benefits program (e.g., insurance discounts), and spearheading an alumni/ae advisory council.

 

The Director is responsible for advancing the mission of Touro by strategically developing, organizing, and leading programs that are designed to identify, track, communicate with, serve, and involve alumni/ae in the life of Touro.

  1. In collaboration with campus leaders, develop and execute a multi-year strategic plan for alumni/ae outreach, engagement, and giving. Key measurables for program success are how alumni/ae functions aid in recruitment, retention, graduation, and employment.
  1. Design and implement an Annual Giving program with alumni/ae as key fundraising targets, but not limited to this group of stakeholders. Plan and implement a series of alumni/ae events throughout the year, including those that cultivate alumni/ae to contribute to Touro.

2.1. Develop and implement alumni/ae campaigns for private support to encourage increased financial support of Touro (i.e., increase the alumni/ae participation rate).

  1. Identify and cultivate relationships with alumni/ae for the purposes of closer engagement with Touro including, but not limited to, philanthropic leadership, mentorship of students, volunteer participation, event planning and participation, and campus partnership initiatives.

3.1. Nurture the growth of the Touro alumni/ae network through the use of technology and social engagement.

3.2. Grow a Touro mentorship program, connecting alumni/ae to current students.

3.3. Implement an alumni/ae benefits program.

3.4. Spearhead the development and appointment of a Touro Alumni/ae Advisory Council.

3.5. Develop and execute a print-on-demand spirit store with Touro-branded gear.

3.6. Serve as the main campus liaison between programmatic alumni/ae groups and the wider university community, fostering increased involvement by building strong alumni/ae connections that meet the overall university’s strategic plan and goals.

3.7. Manage the advancement office’s planning, writing and production of alumni/ae publications, correspondence, and related communications to support a strong alumni/ae program.

  1. Engage the Campus President and Provost, Vice President for Advancement, Deans, and Program Directors (including in the academic departments) in all aspects of alumni/ae engagement

4.1. Plan alumni/ae relations strategies in close partnership with the academic departments.

4.2. Research, draft, and write reports, funding proposals, and correspondence related to alumni/ae engagement and development.

4.3. Advise on the proper storage of alumni/ae information in Raiser’s Edge.

4.4. Prepare an annual budget.

4.5. Design and coordinate swag and giveaways.

4.6. Coordinate with the teammates across campus on alumni/ae events to include fundraising, cultivation, and stewardship events both on a small and larger scale.

  1. Other duties as assigned that support the engagement of Touro alumni/ae.

Mon – Thurs, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Friday, 8:00 am – 3:00 pm

 

Please note weekend and evening work will be necessary.
