About the Position

Woodring College of Education is seeking exceptionally qualified Math Education faculty for part-time positions as instructors at WWU Renton. The positions are part-time and based upon the needs of the College for course offerings at Renton.  Programs are primarily offered during the evening hours.  Woodring College of Education offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate degree, endorsement, and certificate programs at locations around the greater Puget Sound region. 

Current recruitment is for Math 381, 382, and 383; each course is 4 quarter credits.  These appointments may be filled by multiple instructors depending on availability.

Western's Mathematics Education classes combine mathematical content and methods to emphasize problem solving, the use of manipulatives and computing technologies, remediation and resource materials, and optimal pedagogical techniques that help students learn quality mathematics. The core mathematical content for each course is summarized below.

These classes are being offered off campus as part of Woodring College of Education's programming to help fill the teacher shortage and increase the number of candidates in high need areas such as bilingual education, early childhood education, elementary education, English language learners, and special education. These non-traditional programs are looking for instructors for possible vacancies to teach in the evenings and weekends at:

Salary

$1,170 - $1,500 per Credit, Commensurate with experience and qualifications
